Florida Raises SAT Cut-Off Scores for Bright Futures

Today, July 1st, 2019, Florida Senate Bill 190 goes into effect, which raises the required minimum SAT scores for the Bright Futures college scholarships in the state of Florida

These increases go into effect for this year's juniors, that is for those students who graduate in 2021.

The 100% tuition and fees award (known as the "Florida Academic Scholars" award) now requires the student to score a minimum combined math and reading score of 1330, up from the previous requirement of 1290.

The 75% award (know as the "Florida Medallion Scholars" award) now requires a combined 1200, a 30 point increase.

Again, these increases go into effect for 2021 graduates.

Also, the ACT scores for these awards have NOT increased - they are still set at 29 and 26 for the FAS and FMS, respectivitely.
