Matt Barone
My name is Matt Barone, and I'm originally from New Jersey. I'm a dedicated mathematics educator with over 17 years of experience, specializing in Geometry and Algebra. I currently teach at Florida Virtual School, where I've educated thousands of students while also contributing to curriculum development, instructional strategies, and professional learning communities. Before that, I taught in Duval County Public Schools, where I also ran a chess club to help students sharpen strategic thinking skills.
Academically, I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a Minor in Mathematics from Stockton University and a Master's in Business Administration with a specialization in Leadership from Jacksonville University. I'm also certified to teach mathematics and business in the state of Florida.
Outside of my professional life, I'm a passionate adventurer and lifelong learner. I love surfing, hydrofoiling, free diving, paddle boarding, swimming, running, basketball, chess, and traveling. One of my favorite destinations is Costa Rica, where I embrace the natural beauty and ocean lifestyle while continuing to improve my Spanish. I've even been skydiving twice and am always open to new challenges and experiences.
